Tangerang Selatan (ANTARA) - The public protest against a proposed salary and allowance increase for the DKI Jakarta legislative council has become widely discussed on social media. South Tangerang PSI responded to the issue.
PSI South Tangerang spokesperson Bima Januri said all PSI cadres and officials in South Tangerang support the DKI Jakarta PSI board and the PSI faction in rejecting the salary increase.
“Seventy percent of South Tangerang residents commute to Jakarta, including myself. Whatever happens in DKI will indirectly affect Tangsel residents. That is why we strongly support the DKI Jakarta PSI decision to reject the pay raise. There are still many public needs that the budget can address during this pandemic,” Bima said.
“We will stand solidly with our PSI colleagues in Jakarta, and this sets an example for us to continue fighting with the people, especially in South Tangerang. We will ensure this does not happen in Tangsel. I believe the PSI faction in the Jakarta council will remain strong in their struggle,” he said.
