TANGERANGNEWS.com - Ahead of the 2020 regional elections, PSI officially opened registration for its mayoral and deputy mayoral candidate screening convention for South Tangerang.
Registration opened on September 15 and will run through October 20, 2019.
“With the party’s growing support from media, digital channels, and supporters who have chosen PSI, PSI is ready to send its candidate to the 2020 election,” said Andreas Arie Nugroho, chairman of DPD PSI Tangsel, on Sunday (15/9/2019).
He added that interested candidates can register at www.psi.id/daftarpilkada2020/.
They can also contact the convention committee at the DPD PSI South Tangerang office in Ruko Cendana Residence on Jalan Cendana Residence, Serua, Ciputat, South Tangerang.
“Anyone may register. Those who pass the convention will receive official PSI support without paying a single rupiah,” he said.
Muhammad Bima Januri, chairman of the PSI Tangsel candidate screening convention committee, said the convention also includes external panelists to test candidates’ alignment with PSI values and their vision and mission.
“This transparent and open convention will produce local leaders who are far better than selection processes in ‘closed rooms’ inaccessible to the public,” he said.
He added that the convention allows the public to participate in practical politics, not only by registering as candidates but also by selecting and monitoring competent, committed, and clean candidates.
“Our job as the committee is to present the best choices to the public. Since its founding, PSI has always been open in selecting candidates for both legislative and executive positions,” he concluded. (RAZ/HRU)
