POSRAKYAT.ID – Tangsel PSI legislative candidate Muhammad Bima Januri stressed the importance of integrated transportation regulations.
His comments followed a commuter train delay caused by a cable snagging the tracks.
Bima was one of the passengers affected on a KRL train held up near Pondok Ranji.
He said many Tangsel residents face difficulties accessing public transportation.
“Several users living in South Tangerang struggle to find adequate public transport that can take them to their destination, aside from online motorcycle taxis or ride-hailing cars,” said candidate number 1 from the Ciputat district on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Bima noted that in situations like this, motorcycle taxis and ride-hailing services charge very high fares.
“Even then, the price is usually expensive. I still emphasize the need for safe, affordable public transport that reaches every part of South Tangerang,” he said.
He added that public transportation should ideally be integrated with mass transit like KRL, LRT, or MRT, which are currently preferred by many people.
Bima said he will fight for better transportation governance by creating binding regulations on its availability.
“The government should not only focus on infrastructure development while neglecting critical public transport needs,” he said.
If entrusted with a seat in the Tangsel city council, his first priority will be improving and regulating public transport availability for all residents.
