TANGERANGNEWS.com - The Regional Executive Board of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (DPD PSI) in South Tangerang announced 18 prospective mayor and deputy mayor candidates who passed the administrative selection for the PSI convention.
PSI convention chairman Muhammad Bima Januri said that since registration opened in September, 34 people registered. Of those, 27 returned their registration forms.
“After a strict administrative file review, we approved 18 people from South Tangerang,” Bima said at the DPD PSI Tangsel office at Cendana Residence shop houses in Serua, Ciputat, Tangsel on Friday (20/12/2019).
Bima said the successful candidates come from a wide range of backgrounds.
“They include water refilling entrepreneurs, retired civil servants, activists, researchers, lecturers, CEOs, the Tangsel regional secretary, and also the daughter of Vice President KH Maruf Amin,” he said.
Bima added that three internal PSI cadres were among the 18 candidates who qualified: Azmi Abubakar, Kokok Dirgantoro, and Mikhail Gorbachev Dom.
Other candidates who qualified include Ade Irawan, Ambarsari, Fahd Pahdepie, Andreas Jiman, Siti Nur Azizah, Kemal Pasya, Muhamad, Riza Villano Satria, Arsid, Suhendar, Tomi Patria, Masri Wendy Zulfikar, Yusrianto, Kemal Mustafa, and Boedhi Surjono.
Bima explained that the candidate evaluations were based on several criteria.
“In addition to document completeness, we also assess the papers submitted by participants. From there we examine their viewpoints, ideas, and the best solutions for South Tangerang’s progress,” he said.
After the administrative selection, Bima said the process will continue to the next stage. The next round is an interview scheduled for January 18-19, 2020.
“The interview stage will involve independent judges from various figures, such as Mari Elka Pangestu, Hamdi Muluk, Faisal Basri, Sarwono Kusumaatmadja, former KPK commissioner Bibit Samad Rianto, and others,” he concluded. (RMI/HRU)
